Community Defibrillators

Albrighton Parish Council are the custodians of two Community defibrillators within the Parish of Albrighton.

The central village Defibrillator is located on the right hand side of the Red House, High Street WV7 3LU.

In January 2024, Albrighton Parish Council agreed to adopt the disused BT phone box on the High Street. Working in partnership with The Harp, we were able to make use of the phone box by providing an additional defibrillator which has been emergency ready since 30th May 2024. This defibrillator was kindly donated to The Harp by Albrighton Cricket Club, and monies were raised by members of the public to ensure more defibs are readily available in our community. The remaining funds raised will go towards any maintenance required for the BT phone box defib in upcoming years. Albrighton Parish Council are now investigating the costing of tidying up and acquiring signage for the BT phone box to make it more visible in an emergency.

Both of these defibrillators are registered on the national circuit for use by the community in the event of an emergency. If a defib is required in an emergency, please dial 999 and the ambulance operator will locate you to the nearest emergency ready defib and will inform you of the code to access the cabinet. We would like to reassure residents and members of the community that defibrillators are simple to use, the ambulance operator will guide you over the phone and the defib will repeat instructions to you until the action has been performed.

Albrighton Parish Council is thankful to be working in partnership with Albrighton First Responders to ensure both defibrillators are readily available in an emergency. We are also pleased to be working in partnership with The Harp to ensure the maintenance of the defib located in the BT phone box.

We strongly encourage more organisations and groups to consider purchase of Defibrillators and to make sure they are registered on The Circuit to help the Ambulance Crew locate the nearest one in the event of an emergency.
