History of the Chairman to Albrighton Parish Council

Albrighton Parish Council was one of the first Parish Council’s to form in 1894 under the Local Government Act 1894 which allowed Towns, Boroughs and Parish’s to form a council as a second tier of Local Government under County Councils. The first meeting of Albrighton Parish Council convened on 4th December 1894, and the original minute documentation is still kept at the Parish Council Offices.

Albrighton Parish Council Office and Library display Honour Boards with the names and dates previous Councillors were Chairman to the Council. The Honour Boards currently on display are dated from 1948 to 2021

After finding the old minute book, Albrighton Parish Council Office read through the minutes to compile a list of names of Councillors who were Chairman to the Council during their term.

If you are a relative or have any information regarding those who were Chairman to the Parish Council, we would be grateful to hear from you, please email admin@albrightonparishcouncil.gov.uk or telephone 01902 375455.
