MacsMad – Macaroons that Make a Difference

Miss Macaroon’s MacsMAD (Macaroons that Make A Difference) training courses enable long-term unemployed young people to build their confidence and skills to become work ready.

Miss Macaroon is a social enterprise born from a mastery of pastry and the drive to make a difference. Every penny from the sale of macaroons is reinvested into MacsMAD (Macaroons that Make a Difference).

The 10-week training course for 18-35 years helps long-term unemployed young people to build their confidence and skills to become work ready.

To inspire and motivate the trainees, they hear from peer mentors who are MacsMAD graduates with jobs.  A local luxury hotel partner hosts the trainees for a tour and introduction to the Head Chef, building their aspirations and network.

One to one mentoring provides support throughout the course, during follow on work experience and into employment for up to six months. MacsMAD trainees leave the course with their five-year plan, up to date CV, extensive interview practice, industry contacts and help to apply for jobs.
