Arthur was born at St Asaph, Denbighshire in 1923. His parents were Arthur Skerratt and May Roberts, who married in 1919 in Dolgelley. By 1939 the family were living at 17 Bowling Green Lane, Albrighton. In 1943 Arthur married Freda Batley at Wenlock. Arthur was a driver in the Royal Army Service Corps and was killed on 1st February 1945, he is buried at Schoonselhof cemetery, Antwerp, Belgium.
